Bachelor’s degree in Physics from King Saud University in Riyadh in 1985.
Executive MBA from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in 2008.

Served as a lecturer at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (a governmental entity operating in the field of education) in Riyadh from 1988 until 1991.
Served as the Assistant Supervisor at the Atomic Energy Research Institute (an institute affiliated with King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology) in Riyadh from 1993 until 1995.
Served as the Head of Science and Technology Department at the Atomic Energy Research Institute in Riyadh from 1995 until 1997.
Served as the General Manager of Gulf Union Food Company (operating in the field of food production) from 1997 until 2003.
